Hey I’m Taylor. Originally I’m from Texas and now I reside in Southern California. I went to art school for traditional printmaking and currently work in a variety of mediums.
Artist Statements
Clothing
Clothing for me is definitely an exploration of my love for color and texture. My goal with clothing is to generate pieces that are cool, beautiful, and feel great. I want clients to feel great in the the clothes that I make for them . Often I craft unique and one of a kind pieces for my clients, many of which are creatives themselves. I want to make clothes that empower people to be creative and make their own stories.
Fine Art
The Work I do is an exploration of Love, Connections, Human Relationships, and Identity. Currently my art is about Self- healing and reclaiming one’s identity. Often my work is narrative based, where I tell stories of individuals coming to a point of understanding and often self-empowerment. Snap shots of personalities during journeys. Often I incorporate elements from dreams, fantasy, and spirituality to communicate different states of being as we travel through emotions. I am interested in exploring perspectives of people of color and black Americans as it relates to my own identity and self love. My goal is to generate work that people from many walks of life can connect to. A desired by-product of the art is to generate insight, conversation, fun, and the concept of being free.
